Integrity, Confidentiality, Professionalism and Accountability are the key principles on which VDK has based its Confidentiality Policy on.

We are committed to the highest ethical and legal standards to protect personal information and data. VDK Private Investigators and Detectives and its representatives will NEVER disclose client information without being served the proper legal instrument that VDK Private Investigators and Detectives must comply with unless the client expressly wishes us to release any such information/data to a third party. In the absence of such an instrument or client authority to release information pertaining to a client’s investigation, VDK Private Investigators and Detectives considers all clients materials, identity data and all material relating to client investigations as highly confidential. All information kept and stored by VDK Private Investigators and Detectives will be held in accordance to Zambia Data Protection Act.


We protect personal information and data using physical, technological, organisational safeguards and security measures. VDK has developed internal procedures to: Protect personal information and data, Receive and respond to complaints and inquiries related to information in our custody, Train our staff about policies and practices relating to the protection of personal information.

We collect personal information and data for the sole purpose of providing detective and investigative services to clients.


Personal information will not be used or disclosed by VDK for purposes other than those for which it was originally collected, except with the consent of our client or as required by law. The length of time we retain personal information varies depending on the purpose for which it was collected and used. This period may extend beyond the end of the particular relationship but only for so long as it is necessary for us to have sufficient information to respond to any issue that may arise at a later date. When personal information is no longer needed we have procedures to either destroy, delete, erase or convert it to an anonymous form.


Personal information maintained by our organisation shall be as accurate, complete, and up-to-date as is necessary for is intended purposes. Our goal is to minimise the possibility that inappropriate information may be used to make a decision. The process for ensuring accuracy and compliance will involve:

1. Initial collection from client
2. Client will be asked to verify accuracy and completeness
3. Regular reviews
4. Verifying accuracy by contacting third parties

If a significant error or omission is identified, we will correct or amend the information. Where necessary, we will send such corrected or amended information to third parties who have had access to the information in question.


VDK will safeguard all personal information under our control in a manner that is appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. We will take all the physical security measures necessary to protect information in our possession such as:

1. Security alarms, surveillance and locked offices and cabinet.
2. Computer safeguards such strong passwords to prevent unauthorized parties from gaining access to information.
3. Shredding documents before recycling them
4. Deleting electronically stored information
5. Encryption of files and documents


We will make readily available to individuals requesting specific information about our policies and procedures relating to the management of personal information that is under our control.

When lawful exceptions apply, our company shall provide a detailed reason for the denial.
